LeedsUCU podcast episode 12: no branch news 3 July 2024
Today’s episode was due to be recorded 3 July, but, as a member of UCU staff and of Unite LE127 union branch, Alan Smith was on strike, and UCU branch committee members would, of course, not cover his work while he is striking. We have released this special LeedsUCU branch news episode without any branch news, to illustrate that the industrial action has an impact.
With Rachel Walls.

We were unable to record Episode 12 of the podcast because of a strike by UCU staff who are members of Unite LE127 branch. The committee of UCU University of Leeds Branch stands in solidarity with UCU staff and hopes an agreement is negotiated to settle their dispute. In the meantime, here are the sounds of a moorland from the BBC sound effects archive.
[Sounds of a moorland, late spring/summer, with ring ouzel alarm calls and song raven, curlew, red grouse, meadow pipit, sheep and flies, and a stream]
